i bought a 14b turbo, o2 housing, fitings and downpipe. i got it off a guy i met on ebay so i didn't get to check it out before i bought it. anyway, he said it had no shaft play. when i checked it out, he was right.....except there was no shaft spin. i had to use a socket wrench since it was frozen. now it spins with constant pressure, but not freely. he said it was sitting around for a while so i don't know if that has anything to do with it. does it need broken down and cleaned or what?

 

If you don't want to spend the money to get it rebuilt (and to be honest I don't know what that will cost but I would guess over $100) I would try spraying WD-40 down the oil inlet to free it up.

hey man, I had that problem with my 12a(lil bit smaller than 14b), I took it apart and cleaned it up real good, and when I put it back together it spun fine..try that
