14b specs

Re: 14b specs
The 14b that i have is a TDO5h...supposedly the wastegate is 8psi stock, but i tested mine and it came up as 12psi...so i'm not sure if it was replaced at one time or not. Spool time on my z6 usually starts making pressure at 2300rpm or so, usually makes full boost around 3200 (i have it at 9 psi now). As far as how high you can take them for pressure, i'm not sure...but i'll find out in the spring time when my motor is completely rebuilt I have talked to a few dsm guys, and the ones with the 95+ eclipses say they look for the 14b's as a cheap upgrade over the stock t25's that their cars come with. According to them, they don't run out at the higher rpm's like the t25's do, but do have slightly more lag time.

Re: 14b specs
Mine starts at 2400rpm and make 11 at about 3300rpm. Pulls decent all the way to the redline, but can always be better. On most D-series, the most a 14b can see is 18psi, but that is WAY out of it's effieciency range and is probably making more Excessive heat then power at that point.
From all my DSM Resourses say they are gated at 9psi stock. I always thought 8, but mine always pulled to 9, then I head MANY people say 9 is what they are supposed to be at. DSMs used an electronic soleniod to push it up to 10-11psi when the motor was warmed.
It is WAY better then a t25, but still worse then a t3. Get a t3 if you can!!!! I know I wish i did, and if I did, I wouldn't have been buying a new turbo.
