can i use a 7/16 banjo fitting rather than the 7/16-24 brake adapter?

 

for those of you wondering about this. i guess i will answer my own question. No you cannot use it. Maybe if you were able to bore it out a bit. but the conversion from inches to metric:

7/16" * 25.4 = 11.1125mm

11.1125 < 12mm
