Default 10.4:1 LS, crower 404s, gsr tranny, t3/t04e 57 trim RUNS!

PICS ARE UP!!!

Anyways, here's my setup:

B18B1 w/pr3 pistons and cometic .070" hg (10.4:1 cr)
rocket single valvesprings with crower 404s
clutchmasters stg4 4puck
gsr tranny
t3/t04e 57 trim stg3 wheel .63 a/r exh. housing
neukin ramhorn mani (this was a last minute addition, and it's sweet)
tial 38mm
neukin dumptube (hacked up a ton)
very short downpipe
6" fmic
piping that i scraped together off a friend for really cheap (meant for dc chassis)
rfl knockoff
rc 440s
walbro 255
autometer phantom boost gauge (it has really gay huge numbers, but wtf it reads boost so i don't give a ----)

and it's all in my 93 hatch, that tips the scales at 2020 lb.

Here are some pics BEFORE BOOST:

With my neukin mani and tial wg, the wg hit the rad support so we had to cut out a chunk to make it work.

I love this boost gauge location. And I hate a-pillar pods, so it works out great.

A shot of the fmic and piping. I need to hack up the piping a little bit cause there's no way in hell my front bumper is going on right now, so I'm just cruisin around ghetto-style.

The bov was a bit of work. My upper ic pipe had a tial flange on it w/jb weld, that we heated up and the flange just kinda came off. So we chiseled away the jb weld, and in the meantime i had an upper pipe for an ef w/the bov on it. We cut a squarish piece out of the ef pipe w/the flange for the bov on it, and hammered it down to a square and cut out a circular piece, which was welded onto the upper ic pipe. And voila. Credit for this goes to my friend Alex in case he reads this.

If you look you can see my short dp. I have a back half that needs to get welded on cause the back half has o2 bungs and a nice flex section.

Around this area I noticed a little bit of oil spray at first. I pulled the valve cover, made sure the cam seals were in good, and threw some permatex on the vc gasket and made sure that was all good. The oil issue SEEMS to have subsided, but it's hard to tell cause the old oil is hard to get at to clean up, and....it doesn't really just dry up. The oil filter was fine, the oil feed was fine, and it started above the hg (not like the hg would spray oil anyways...right?) so it had to be vc gasket or cam seals right? Any other input is greatly appreciated.

I've been too scared to go WOT, cause it's just on a phearable chip right now, but partial throttle is NUTS. I mean I haven't ridden in a whole lot of "fast" cars, but it feels absolutely awesome. I'm pretty sure that at halfish throttle in 2nd gear when I hit around 6psi it spun the tires til it banged of the rev limiter.

EDIT: WG issue taken care of thanks to slo_crx1! derrrr on my part

And i think a cam seal is leaking, so i have to deal with that annoyance, but overall, HOORAY!!! It's already lasted longer than my first setup on my d15(approx. 3hours lol).

PICS WILL BE UP SOON!

The pressure line for the wastegate should come off the turbo and connect to the bottom nipple on the wastegate. It uses the compressor's pressure to push it open against the set spring pressure to reach the desired boost level. Attaching the line to your top line on the wastegate is just pressing it closed even tighter, and explains why your hitting 8psi at part throttle. FYI, the top line on the wastegate is meant to be used with a boost contoller.

Thanks so much! I asked my friend who i got the wg from cause i wasn't sure, and he was....wrong.

Now, if my turbo doesn't have a vacuum nipple on it, is it ok to have the wg signal come from my im? (it's a fat vacuum nipple, not a tiny one)
When i say, "is it ok", i mean, will it respond quick enough?

Thanks for the advice.

You should have your wg line coming from a pressure source. I currently have mine coming off a nipple on my charge pipe leading off of the turbo, seeing that my 16g doesn't have a nipple on the housing. You could hook it up to your intake manifold, that would work as well. If that's where you have it coming from, just leave it there and swap it to the bottom nipple on your wastegate.

PICS ARE UP!!!!!

And in regard to the oil spray pic, it was more towards the middle/lower/right corner of the pic. Sorry, it's really vague, but idk how else to show it.
