Default ~~~UPDATE~~~~~MY B18 BIG BLACK PROJECT........ 56k NO WAY!!!!!

Well I have been putting parts together for a while now and thing are falling inline. Got my block back from the shop a few weeks ago.......


here is the set up.

B18a 81.5 bore/hone, and balanced
wiseco pistons -12cc dish
TT rods
Skank 2 valve springs
LSD clutch
H1C 12cm
egay wg
arp head studs
ford 600cc injectors..... and so on

now im just wating on my bearings from majestic. I was gona use the acl's but it was too much money/work.


UPDATES

Well got the bearings in and they all fit very well and all fell into specs. SO now I hade to hone the small end of the TT rods to get my pison pins to fit.

mounted the drill in the vice with the hone in the drill chuck and got to work.
I did it a few differant times to make sure that I didnt get in there and just hog the ---- out of it.

Now that the lower end was done it was time to move onto the head.

Went to napa and picked up some laping compound

Pulled the head out and stripped it clean of all the valve train

So the I took the lapper and put it on the grinder and tried to make it as round as possable to fit in my drill

turned out pretty good SO I put the spring seats back in and drove on the new valve stem seals.

Side by side the skank 2's are so much beafer than the stock its not even funny.

So I striped it back down to repaint it a differnt color.
While I was wating for it to dry I checked out the oil pump and it is as tight as new so I painted it

ACL's are too much work? You drop them in, if the crank spins you're good to go!

Other than that comment, looks sweet. You have springs, buying cams later?

I plastigaged them all out and 3 mains wont work and 1 rod bearing wont work...
So i figured out what the colors of the rainbow my crank and rods needed.

Well my las build was within spec, but this motor had 185k when I got it and I think it was a little loose.

Did you just rattlecan the block cause that looks really good. What kind of manifold are you bolting that holset to?

its just straight out the can. low gloss 500* engine black.


The holset is gona get bolted up to the good old hmt top mount stock mani, elephant style!!!!!!!!!!

How much did you pay for the piston? And for the block work? We have almost the same build

I wont know. thats the best part. It alway looks like it clean, or dirty or what ever

The pistons were 420 shipped with the rings locks and pins!!!! To balance the whole rotating assembly(p.plate to the pully), bore, hone, deck the block, gap the rings and clean the block it was $330. DG Machine FTW!!!!!!!! Dale Green is the ------- man when it comes to machine work.
