its impossible for us to judge your welds without seeing them lol.
but by your description you clearly didn't get full penetration.
show us pics, but run it till it cracks. if anything cracks pull it off and reweld.

i bet it wont crack.
schedule 40 is thick ------- ----, even if you only filled the bevel, you most likely never to see a crack.
if your worried, just lay another BFB (big ------- bead) around your welds again.
i welded some sch 40 ---- with a 90amp flux core, didnt penetrate through and my buddy has been rocking it for 3+ years. other than the ugly ------- welds its held like a champ.
just rock it and dont worry about it.
