Default Wideband gauge for the cheap bastard in all of us

Total cost was around $10.00 plus an old cigarette lighter cell phone charger. The CDM volt-meter is powered by 5v so the charger was used to step the car's 12-14v to the 5v it needed.

Gutted a cigarette lighter cell phone charger for the 12v to 5v bits

Tapped into some wiring for 12v during IG key position

JBWeld to the rescue

this is just the gauge.

you will need to use a WB O2 sensor along with it to get a correct signal

come to think of it, why would you need to gut a cig lighter adapter?

does the "gauge" not accept a 12v power signal and then a 0v-5v signal from the WB o2 sensor?

the gauge needs a 5v signal in order to operate. I tried it on 12v and it just wigged out. I got my LM-1 outputting 1.0v at 10:1 and 2.0v at 20:2 so if the gauge says 1.5 I'll know i'm running stoich.

hmmm just realized I might need to make a modification on the decimal place...anywho

bitchass - I'm using a LM-1. I would have gone with one of the JAWs but I got my LM-1 the week they came out. Poor thing has been through hell.

Next time if you can't find a old cell charger, you can spend a $1.50 at radio shack.

Thanks dude, I'll remember that.

So yeah I fucked up and realized I needed a gauge with a higher resolution to show A/F properly. Im bidding on a panel with 0.01 resolution. Shouldnt be a big deal to re-wire.
