Twin Turbo B16 *pics inside*

let me just start by saying this is NOT for myself... someone wanted to do a tt setup on their b16 powered DA so i did it :S. i agree with everyone who will comment that it is a waste of time, but $ talks. he will most likely have to run a half rad on this setup and he already has a pusher fan so the oem fan is gone. he is also running p/s on this setup as well. the turbos are out of an R33 skyline, the one of the timing belt side is only for mock up since it is pretty much toast. i'll be doing the charge piping for this setup as well, i don't think it will be all that complicated. more pics when i get that far.

manifold... looks tight for a 2.5" dp coming off each turbo but i made it work. they merge into a 3".

very nice man. cant wait to see the outcome. Might be a ton of money and not really worth it, but man, sometimes its worth it to pop the hood with something different...

High revving B16 and don't the turbo's on the RB26DETT's have those ceramic compressor wheels that like to shatter at high rpms? Just one of those interweb myths I always here. Fab work likes tits like usual Aaron. 8)

Fab work looks good.
Its turbine RPM that would cause it to shatter. What does that have to do with it being a high revving B16? lol RPM would be related to PR and Flowrate.

Re: Twin Turbo B16 *pics inside*

thanks guys. yes, it is someone local that will be driving this... although how soon i'm not sure. he still hasn't come to pick everything up. i don't think he is in a hurry as the car is being completely ripped down and painted as well.

the intercooler will probably be just a back door with both two inlets on the driver side. the timing belt side turbo will be clocked so that it faces forward and the tranny side turbo will stay the way it is and the charge pipe will run across the top of the two turbos.

So are you going to be fabbing something like two 2in dia chargepipes from the hot side of both the turbos into the fmic with double inlets, then out a single 2.5in or so running it back to the intake manifold? I've seen a few of those intercoolers on Ebay before with two inlet on one end and only one outlet on the other, but never a back door one. Maybe you could piece together some sweet bends to accomondate that I'm sure... Progress is looking good nonetheless!! ;)

it woulda looked and worked better 1-3 4-2

jackfrost1031 05-07-2007 11:39 PM

Re: Twin Turbo B16 *pics inside*

firing order is 1-3-4-2 right?

I think that would make it go power-power-pause-pause instead of power-pause-power-pause, for each turbo. I think the way he did is the better way.

If i remember Jeff said the dual inlet on the intercooler on his twin was a major pain and wasnt worth it

Probably merge them cleanly before the intercooler right?

Man, I really hope you're from outside of this country, with English as a second(or even third) language. That jumble of mis-spelled words, above, is a little disconcerting.

If you are from outside this country, good job on the English. I know how difficult it is to learn another language, and then write in it.

If not, go back and kick your 4th grade teacher in the shin. He/she failed you. :y
