some head welding
 
this is for a customer who wants some strength added in the water jackets for his tt bmw setup. i've only done two ports so far, i need to get some thicker filler wire. i'll post up pics of the finished head later.

Very interesting. Is this a usual area of concern for that type of engine?

yeah, i guess that is the weakest area of the head with high boost #'s.

as soon as I saw that head I knew it was a bmw. bmw are known for breaking rocker arms if you over rev them, but I bever seem the actual head get damage

I've welded cast aluminum once. After that I dropped an anvil on my face just for trying :1
That stuff isnt easy - thumbs up

so you drive a honda but posted this on FEOA also? mind telling me why? granted its great work but your lossing me as to why.

just trying to show something different that you don't get a chance to see too often. i've posted it on a bunch of different forums. ;)

yes, I drive a HONDA, but this head is for a twin turbo BMW. this is hmt where it is all about boost. :y this kinda work could be done for any vehicle head, block, intake mani...
