Re: sealing up v bands
you guys sound like field negros, not even house negro status. learn english.
the best/only way to fix your v-band is to cut it off and weld on a new flange. this time, don't warp it. :y |

All of our vband assemblies are assembled prior to shipping to ensure proper fit. If they are too wide after welding to assemble, then you've warped them more then you realise. We ship over 500 assemblies a month, and have less then 1 in 2000 defect rate, so I can guarantee its not an issue on our end. The good news for you is, we stand behind our parts and will exchange the rings you've warped for new rings once. If you warp them again, that's on your head.

Re: sealing up v bands
Clamp them and give em hell... I say. Or take your piece of pipe and stand it on its end on an anvil or something and try to lightly tap it flat.

Re: sealing up v bands
Just a follow up -
Our vbands are designed for 65-70% engagement of ring to band profile. According to the clamp manufacturer, that gives us more holding pressure then required for typical automotive applications. We originally modeled our rings around other assemblies on the market which were thinner, that had a larger percentage of engagement profile (typically about 85%), but found we were warping too many sets during assembly, and you couldn't repair them. To address this, we redesigned our rings to be wider to begin with, so they are less likely to warp and can be resurfaced if required. |
