umm... the do make adapters for a v6 honda accord motor to a vw swing axle trans, and also an adapter for a reverse vw engine/tranny, with an end cap thats hydro for shifts you can probably come up wiht something like this for a d16... if you do let me know, I WANT ONE BAD! ive been tryin to find a way to hook a d16 to a vw tranny cuz i got a vw tranny sittin right here...

as of about a year ago they told me they couldn't do it... since the honda engine runs in the reverse direction as the vw engine... so unless you can come up with a slick way to change it...
