Default Roll cage 1991 civic hatch

Anyone install a roll cage in an ef hatch? Where should the rear braces go down to?

Before you start asking were the go, try looking into the rule books so your not just installing a roll cage for the ricer effect, but for the saftey.

Also some Q's?

What Class and Type of Racing,
How Many Point Cage?
What speeds/times are you shooting for if drag racing?
What harness/ seat setup?

The list goes on, can't just toss a cage in and go!!!

Sorry, i should know to post more than i did. The local dragstrip told me it needed a rollbar if i want to run it again. ran an 11.4@131. Might do a l;ittle bracket racing. It's a Jegs 10 point cage. I expect it to run 10s.

I have a copy of the nhra rules. They're specific about the cage itself but not so much on some of the mounting points.

It is for safety, not for riceing.

I'm thinking point B would be good.

Search HT. There was a post in the Fab Forum about the Jegs Cages and the debate about whether to go to the suspension point or the unibody rail.
Personally when mine goes into my EG it's going to the unibody rail with the required 1/8" mount plate.

Why? You don't think a 10 POINT CAGE is going to make things stiff enough?

Bars, ---- your welding tube to your chassis. Why put a flimsy brace in. Get another 1-3/4" Tube and weld it in.

Definately tie it into the frame rails at point B.

That will increase the over all stiffness of the chassis more than point A.

I kinda like how the rear bars are with the cage, as it would be eazy to do and keep the interior
