I know the blocks got reinforced around '93 but by exactly how much? I've had 900s come in for salvage with sixes cracked visibly through the block and that's completely stock.

As long as you've done your home work, it'd suck to invest in internals and so much piping and tuning just to have overbuilt your platform...

Hahaha thanks guys, turbo shoebox indeed.

Some fresh pics.

Sorry no driving vids yet, snapped a couple pics and wanted to get out on the road for some tuning, then before I knew it, it was dark.

Some time this weekend for sure.

Everything's running good still- have taken it up to ~5000rpms or so with no tach dropouts or other oddities so that's good.

Needs a LOT of cosmetic work and details yet, but here she is again:

S80 blocks are good to around 900ish hp before you need to pour some cement in.

Plenty of swedes running the identical 5 cylinder version of this motor to 700hp open deck.

Rods are another story.

I guess I would expect the S80 blocks are probably much better (whiteblocks?) I just wasn't sure how different they were to the 940 I6s, but now that you say that it makes sense...

Ever seen this vid before? Dogbox trans too.. orgasmic.

HOT HOT HOT!!
