Someone else asked how thick the frame was... I dont know the thickness of the top of my head, but the frame will bend before the prerunner bar will. I think it's 3/16's Box frame. You can see it in the 4th picture from the top in my first post. I used 1.5" inside diameter steel plumbing pipe from Home Depot. It's 1/4" sidewall, so 2" outside diameter. The ---- is HEAVY, but damn strong. Winch comin in the future, after the 5.7, and after the SFA swap.

what i have on it NOW is a pre-runner bar.
It goes along the lines of the desert pre runners such as this :

Hence... not a brush guard

what does a brush guard or prerunner bar do besides look neat and weigh a lot? I can see it giving a good place to mount a winch, but that's about it.. and lightbars don't ahve to be made stronger than the frame of the vehicle.

Re: Pre-runner bumper for my blazer
do you realize how many NON-REAL 4x4s have them?
I've not seen that many on the trucks people offroad in around here, of which there are quite a few. There are lots of hybrids and all that that people have, but i guess when you're at that point you build in mounts for a skidplate somewhere else..
