when i wanted a z a couple years back i used to frequent hybridz.org (i think thats the site)...

the coolest swap i had seen, beside the RB and 2JZ was a GN 3.8 turbo with a corvette IRS. with your resources you could do better than the cookie cutter SBC swap.

I agree. Do something off the wall and not so normal. Swap a D15 in it. :1

The thing is I really want to go with a v8 though mainly for that nice sound
engines of choice in order
ls2
ls1
lt1
rb26

That is the list I will go through when it comes time to drop an engine in but $$$ will play a big factor as this is just my daily beater my s2k is my real race car and any $$$ i put in this car takes away from the s2k

I always debated what to put in my 280Z and always had a 13b in the back of my head. You should see the room in the engine bay after that. You could fit another 13b inside there. Instead I just picked up a T4 60-1 and some other things for it. Oh check out Hybridz.org and thats have everything covered front to back about swapping ---- into Z's. Motorsportauto.com has huge selection of stuff and the flares that you want. It's where I got mine. They carry alot of really nice carbon fiber body parts for it...hatch,hood and flares.

Great find! Looks to be in great shape, especially for the price. Love that silver one.

Is that original paint? From the pics it looks beautiful. If it is, I say (as if you really want my opinion or anyone else's here :P) keep the paint and just focus on the motor...

anyways, kudos on finding a beautiful Z!

no the guy who had it before painted it in his garage, it is original color but not original paint
it looks that good from 5 feet away but when you are up close you can see some runs and spots where dust got in it

If you need any help on the LSx swap let me know. I have a ton of information in my head about those motors. We are talking about doing a tube framed LS series motor to go ice racing with next year. I work with a guy that has about 4 of them in his garage. He said the biggest problem is the rearend, but if you find all the crap from a 280 you will fine.
