The ls1's are getting to be a decent price, and they weigh 150lbs lighter than a standard small block. In a car like that, with no weight in the back, you'll be swapping ends like crazy with a standard small block.

ps.. dont forget about the brakes.. all that power, you need something to haul it down from your repetitive trips to 140mph..

I have a 355sbc in my 73 914... lots of fun!

Actually there is just minor surface rust on the floor boards nothing all the way through no holes

I got the car from a guy that was going to restore it but gave up he got it from original owner which parked and garaged it since 87

This car was actually on ebay and was going to sell for around 5k (it still had 2 days on the auction and already had 20 bids and was at 2k) I went down there and snatched it up for 2500$ cash so I wouldnt have to pay the big price later lol

Dont worry when I get done you will have thought the car came out of the show overhaullin
Luckly there is a huge amount of aftermarket for this car and everything is cheap

This is going to be my fun daily driver and my sbc racer
I will do a 8 point cage in it to keep the frame from going to hell with the big v8 also
will eventually go over to a newwer lsd r200 rear end

theres one on ebay now with the v8 swap "buy it now" for 15k. At least you know if you get bored you can make a hefty sum off of it.

And damn that 355 looks like it fits in there with plenty of room to spare. your going to go carb'ed right?

I probably will unless I choose to do some fi then I will end up going efi for the easier tuning
I still think 2x gt30r and ls1 @ 10 lbs of boost would = one major bad *** in this light car
