so, I started on my header a few days ago. Drew the fucker up to ensure it would fit in the god damn car. I hate ford and their scrunched fornt ends. I can barely slip a booger edgewise between the block and radiator, let alone the GT28R I plan on stuffing in there.... but, thats what this is for:

No he wouldn't run the collector because its going to cause unneeded turbulence in the exhaust flow thus lower velocity, and then increasing spool time. You want gradual merging not an ssauto type of setup...

any longer collector and I wont have enough height to return oil to the pan or clear the radiator/core support... there is a reason I designed it the way I did.... I have to think about making the damn thing fit first, and flow good second. Escorts dont have a shitload of room in front of the engine like hondas do.. And the spacer between the pipes is to make it the same size and shape outlet as the turbo flange inlet. I could always build a log manifold instead.... :S

flow well, but regardless, the collector would be smaller had you not used that strip... I wasn't talking about collector length before, the way the collector splits and then is joined with a strip is stupid, why didn't you just weld it straight together?

because then the collector would be square, and T2 flanges arent square. If we are going to get nitpicky about it, the convergence angle of the tubes shouldnt be more then 7*, any more then 7* creates turbulence... My tubes join at an 35* angle....

Strip or no strip, its still gonna be lighyears ahead of a log manifold. :y

1 1/2" sched 40... its 1.61 actual inside, and 1.90 actual outside.

looks ugly but should work!

IMO solid modeling doesn't work good for mocking up manifolds. I built one in inventor and if I was to make it in real life it would have gone through my hood and rad lol.

Trial and Error! unless you feel like modeling the whole engine bay.

It looks like ---- for a reason<s>. Doesn't matter if it's because you're incompetant, or if it actually has to too maintain a similicty of engineering.

true that. Someone gets it. There is a reason for the angles and spacer plate between the halves. I coulda tig welded it, but I didnt feel like spending several hours on just my collector just to make it pretty... :S

i would atleast take a die grinder to the inside of that bitch, sure it work but when its next to free to improve it why not, just cause its hmt doesnt mean you have to ------ rig every-thing, and neglect poor craftsmanship, yes that collector will work fine but you can tell you didnt take your time with it and there is more your to be done with it ;)

Anyways, yes, I did rush, the reason I rushed is because I work on this ---- during my lunch breaks at work, so I dont exactly have the time to sit down and hand flie the pipes till I cant slip a paper between them.

you must have missed the part where the rest of the manifold is NOT ------- THERE, and hence, IM NOT DONE.

Im bolting a GT28R, 42# injectors, water injection, an ITB, large plenum manifold with velocity stacks onto a 2200 lb car.... Im quite sure it wont be anything to sneeze at for 98% of the cars on the road.

I have a 14B on the car right now, with water injection, 3" exhaust, and a front mount, pushing 12 PSI. Prior to that it was a shitty tired .60/.48 T3 with 7.8:1 compression. I didnt like it so I ditched in it favor of the 14b and 9.0:1 compression. So no, Im not new to turbochargers, and Im MUCH less of a newb then you may take me fore, but please, continue to make assumptions so I can prove you wrong.

looks like you need to turn up the amps a little. not quite enough penetration, but the fit is nice. im sure it will be a good manifold
