Curious about the penitration... got a pic of the other side?

If you got penitration, then that looks great!
I would have started on the thicker piece of metal, got it hot, then quickly hit the thin stuff.. repeat.. Less wire, more heat/voltage but just ever so slightly.

On some parts it looks like you nailed it, on others, its iffy. Worst case? weld the other side

Good luck

The pipe actually slips inside the hole and through. We beveled the edge to create a channel and welded right into that. penetration seems ok, voltage was at max. Could have gone a bit slower on the wire speed im sure. Also we stitched it so as not to warp the flange. Ive never had to weld together 2 piece of such varying thicknesses.

looks cold and like you need more wire. Are you using 110V flux? It kinda looks that way. Here is my weld, this is closer to what it should look like, but mine aint perfect either. Im sure yours will work just fine, mabye give it another pass. How thick is that flange? Mine is 3/8, if yours is too, pour the heat into her. You can see mine is all heat colored, and it didnt warp. I welded it 1/4 of the ay around at a time, starting on opposite sides and working my way around in 4 passes.

Very nice. Thats the way it is done. you should be aiming the wire more on the thicker metal and if you do it right it will build up and melt right into the thinner stuff.

thicker wire lower speed.

HF 151:

min 2, wire speed at 3 for .035 wire, 3.4ish for .030 wire

all flux

035 flows as smooth as butter. 030 burns too fast, doesnt stay in place
