So i finally got around to making my STD man to t3 adapter keeping my a/c. The 90 deg bend is only sch 10, but i'm gonna but some angle iron braces from one flange to the other to make sure it holds good. For the flanges I cut the flange off the std downpipe, then inserted the 2.5" pipe and tacked it in there, then stretched/heated/hammered it out to fit the shape. The flange to the turbo is from my friends focus that he put a new downpipe w/ cat on. I was it and was like, hey, that might work for a t3 flange, the opening is a little big, but i just drilled new holes to line up with the t3 and i'm good. As far as clearance, the turbo almost sits on top of the front crossmember, i'm gonna cut out some material from it for engine movement and oil drain, then possible weld in some 1" or .75" square tube to brace it. if the oil drain is level or uphill, i'll be making one of those HMT ghetto topmounts out of my 4-2-1 header.
Anyways, heres the pics of my major lack of skill with a welder :1, keep in mind it was an arc welder on mild steel and cast steel.
i need to grind down that bead a little to get the manifold to bolt up flush
ooops, too much heat :1 had to add 2 more pieces of pipe on top of a burned spot
all bolted together:
downipipe will be a nice exit here, just 90 degrees, then straight back
here's my dsm intercooler, it will be going in place of the battery/airbox, nice short intercooler piping. i cut the holes out to fit 2.25" piping for better efficiency, some dsm site said it helped out alot:
HMT, JB weld, and ARc madness fo eva
and in case anybody took the title seriously i was just kidding

that is so steller, nig rigged ---- is the way to go, then people feel stupid when they get beat by you, they realize that all their shiney valve covers and engine dress ups dont help them up much
