seems like there will be a long enough transition that he won't be opening up the ports much. Just smoothing between the runner sections.

lol what machine? i didnt mean it as an offense btw, just that the welds are big so it looks like its been miged

1/8" aw ---- it. its a HMT project anyways... why go through the hassle of grinding it down etc when the runners to the head are smaller to begin with! Unless you have too much time on your hand ;)

A smooth transition to a bottle neck is still better than and abrupt change. Plus the bottleneck will increase velocity, should keep any bottom end you're losing. Think of it like opening up the port.
