Default a lil project this week...

Well i'm doing a mpfi swap on my crx dx and was not very impressed with the size of the stock D16A6 intake manifold. sence the car will be boosted in the next few days i thought i would take anvantage of a few parts i had laying around.

plans: weld a stock b16 intake plenum to the runners of the d16a6 IM.

Now no making fun of my shitty welds... first time trying aluminum and i have to say it is deffanetly weird....

port matching will be done here shortly...

so how do you think this will help flow? sence it has a bigger plenum and shorter runners?

the head will have to be port mached as well other wise there will be a "lip" that will create flow restriction

but if everything is port mached it should be a very good improvement

Looks pretty sweet. Just a lil portin' and that ---- will be good. Were the ID of the runners the same?

no the d16 runners were about a 1/8" smaller... so i need to port match to even the flow.

so i plan on only smoothing the transition from the b16 runners to the d16 runners will it hurt the flow if i keep the lil bit of d16 runners the stock sizeing?

you should have done your port matching before you welded it up! it would have been much easier. it looks good for your first aluminum welding... cast is never fun.

The head? The only change is in the runners.
