Oh, and I got dibs saying you cap that pipe on both ends & pressurize it. It leaks somewhere. Rule #1 to laying HMT birdshield flux core welds. There is no such thing as perfectly sealed...



Not that I care what you do tho.
I agree. Seems that many do things like this on purpose.

I'm all about HMT skills, but man that's ultra HMT I usually take a small hammer and curl a lip in one side of the pipe, weld it to the smaller diameter pipe, then repeat the curl and weld around the rest. Usually works out pretty well, and looks pretty decent when it's finished.

or cut 6 slits in the bigger pipe, put the smaller pipe inside of the bigger pipe, and bend the slits on the bigger pipe down, durrr :1

hahaha nice.

i've used coat hangers and nails to fill small 1/4" gaps but something like that i garuntee is full of leaks. slather on some jb weld to seal it up.

also, i want inside pics, i don't believe you when you say its a smooth transition
