Nice table too, I'm moving next weekend so we'll probably be building furniture too...I think the farthest it'll go is some 2x4s and cardboard, maybe a couple carseats.

 

use two pieces of glass. have the first sitting in the L channel. Then put a few flowers on the glass. And then have another piece sitting 1 1/2" higher at the top on some sort of spacer. It'll make it look like the flowers are floating in the glass. and if you only put a few flowers you'll still be able to see the scrolls pretty well through the glass. your wife will love it.

Good idea, but that'll be expensive as hell. 1/4 plate glass goes for like.... 5-7 dollars a square foot, depending on where you go.

 

around $200 I'm guessing. You might be able to find a deal or even use thinner glass for the bottom one since it wont be supporting the mugs of beer.

 

i got offered a job working at a shop that made that ----... couldnt take it cause teh shop was hella far away but the guy does sweet work

Some of that ---- is pretty cool but it looks pretty modular.I dont see too much welding happening there.

I think we're going to use glass.I'm just going to weld some 1/2" L channel around the inside edge set down about a 1/2".That will give me a base to set the glass on.Ill post picts on how it turns out.

 

Nice work, I've always thought it would be cool to make my own furniture out of metal. I've made ---- out of wood like endtables and stuff but metal just looks cooler.
