yeah i know its common on jeeps, i actually work with a guy that did it for his so you can basically feild repair something if your out in the woods 4 wheelin. never seen it in tig though since you need to have a gas bottle for that but i guess if you dont need it to be portable it would work out..

but HMMMMMMM sounds really nice i might try this. it wouldnt be hard at all to modify that variable resistor switch to a real tig foot pedal.

Hmm... I have a few Civic Alternators sitting around. 80 amp tig worth it?
I would try this if i wasn't at school. You can easily MIG up brackets/adjusters. And get a cheap HF compressor motor.
