My friend runs a small engine shop, I might have to talk to him about this.

We could rig something up I am sure. 5hp isn't hard to get.

yeah i know its common on jeeps, i actually work with a guy that did it for his so you can basically feild repair something if your out in the woods 4 wheelin. never seen it in tig though since you need to have a gas bottle for that but i guess if you dont need it to be portable it would work out..

Not being an ass, But a 5Hp Briggs & Stratton motor is not = to a 5hp electric motor. The electric motor will put out signifigantly more TQ. But i think a 5hp gas engine should have enough :6

but HMMMMMMM sounds really nice i might try this. it wouldnt be hard at all to modify that variable resistor switch to a real tig foot pedal. :6

those welds look nice.

Hmm... I have a few Civic Alternators sitting around. 80 amp tig worth it?

I would try this if i wasn't at school. You can easily MIG up brackets/adjusters. And get a cheap HF compressor motor.
