the one guy in that thread sums it up nicely... "they are buyers, we are builders". i'd rather spend time on a forum where people are building their own ----, rather than buying it... any chump with money can do that. to build something takes a measurable amount of skill.

On the note of rich douchefags. Theres a guy in my city that is eurotrash that bought a lotus 7 with a modded hayabusa 1300 in it. He pulled the steering wheel off to get out and couldn't get it back on. So he called the manufacturer direct for instructions lol.

I got a guy come to my store with a Lamborghini. He looked like hot ---- getting in and out of the car, but when he drove away all I could do was laugh as he revved the car really high and slipped the clutch forever since he obviously didn't know how to drive standard.

I was always skeptical about that ???

I mean, they're claiming throughout the entire show that their clutch is bad, then in the final shot as they're leaving, they did a burnout? How the hell does that happen if your clutch is slipping even at all? Just revving it that high will cause it to slip like it's covered in grease.
I think they were just trying to beg off outta the race because their car was getting trashed. I also think they weren't exactly told what they were going to be doing, because they -----footed around most all the events.

the damn T-fittings on the brake lines cost me R400 each...

for our new car's , in the not too distant future, we are going to be running 6speed crash-boxes as the std.... that's a 60K+ gearbox just there.

and it's all imported parts... 30%+ down the crapper for me right there... :S

cant remember if ihad read it or not, but have you ever actually ran the original against an atom yet just to shut those fools up on the other forum? I would imagine yours to be quite nicer on the track than the atom. maybe not the supercharged version for autox, but still... price wise yours has to be close.

No, have not had the opportunity yet.

But be not fooled, The[That other track car] is formidable. They also have 5 years+ worth of playing around with it, to get to where the [That other track car]300 is now. So I'm not expecting to just be up there from the get-go. One thing I do try and do is, to do it all right from the start, The [That other track car] has so many little things that are not right... heck it took them what? 4 years, to figure out that having rubber engine mounts are actually not such a bad idea after all. :) Yes it's a lot more work, and yes clearances are more of an issue.... that is what it's all about, doing it right from the start is never easy, but it's easier than doing it all over again...

As for price, I'm at about 42% of what a top model [That other track car] would cost me here, If I where to Buy one right now.... So There I'm afraid I will be losing the battle bigtime. I can't imagine what I will have to put in mine to make it worth a Mill.
