Default Homemade engine hoist

Hey

For those who don’t have an engine hoist, here is how I managed to pull the engine out…

2 wooden studs strapped together on their side for more rigidity
2 scaffold sets
1 puller
1 sling
1 chain
2 17 mm bolts
1 redneck

That is it.

that is the ----- way... i lifted my engine out with my two hands, and put it in with my two hands. the toughest part was picking it up off the floor after i put it down inbetween engine bays.

This is probably because you've been welding for so long, your exposition to metal fumes made you a super human, half man, half robot.

If ever I meet you in person, don't be offended if I don't shake your hand, as I don't want my arm to be teared off.

with my EGs I just jack the car up high and drop the motor and trans. down with jack(s) and pull them out from underneath the car. Reverse the operation to install.

I bought one for 100 dollars at harbor freight and have owned it for like 8 years now. What a horrible investment

mine is diesel powered.

It works alright; just bleeds down if you cut it off.

Me and my homie pulled his single cam with a 2x4 and a rear seatbelt from a 240sx.

My dad did something like this before (a lot more ghetto) but it was for a V8...
