As for the DA bars. I would like to work out a design but it is not as easy as Copying a companies bar. I need a car to make the first prototype on, and even after that I still like to have a car for every one I make seeing as the extra mounting locations. My EF Jig is a car. I cut the front end of a car off.

Once you get a prototype built, I'll be the first one to try it ;)

my main problem is I don't know anyone in my area with a DA. I may have to start going to the honda-tech meets advertising myself and try to pick some one up.

my question to you csaddict is how far over do you mount the bars that go to the lower control arm (like a distance from the frame mount to where the vertical bars mount to the horizontal bar)...the rest seems pretty straight forward just copying the oem cross member's dimensions and locations right? is that how you came up with the location for the control arm bar? is it inthe same location as stock?

is there anything that should be considered or watched out for when building a set?

thanks guys!!

Re: HMT traction bars

The pivot point on the bar must be in line with the pivot point of the LCA to Chassis mount. Bar length can be calculated in many ways. Some take 2 pipes, one that will slide inside the other. Mount them in place, cause your suspension to compress and extrend fully, measure the length, take the average. There is debates with this, as the bar length should really be within a small range because you suspension only travels so much.

FYI you EG doesn't have a factory crossmember to copy, plus you would want to copy an OEM one.

yea ---- your right...i was thinking of my old ef 4dr.....

so im thinking that i should take a measurment with my car on the ground with the coilovers down (compressed) and then one at like stock height (extended) and split the difference and thats what the bar length should be?...

and when you say the pivot points have to be in line...are you saying i can put the mount for the vertical bar anywhere as long as the bracket its mounted to is at teh same angle as teh bar going to the LCA? can you elaborate more on the "pivot point"?

Re: HMT traction bars

Pivot Point: I mean the center of the bolt at which you Heim Joint will bolt to the Traction bar.

As for putting the bar "Where ever you want". Not really, but on you car sort of. The is really only one location that makes sense and that between the tow hooks.

hey im making bars for my crx right now and i was just wondering what you guys think i should do about mounting them to the lca should i drill though it and bolt it like that or is there a better way to do it? I have coppied the design from the first link, the civic, so im pretty much ready to finish it up just wondering about the lca.thanks

How far are the joint brackets mounted from the edges of the bar? And could you give demensions of the joint brackets?

Thanks
