Fabricating your own exaust AFTER the down pipe...
It SUCKSSSSSSSS
Especially when you are doing it with the wagon a full 12-16" off the ground......When I upgrade to 3" exhaust, I sure as ---- am paying someone, or paying someone to rent their lift!!!! |
Re: Fabricating your own exaust AFTER the down pipe...
it does suck w/o a lift, all the crawling under the car and trying to tack ---- on...

open downpipe FTW

without a lift it sucks so much ass. with a lift it's easy and midly enjoyable.

Re: Fabricating your own exaust AFTER the down pipe...
just get a nascar jack and put jack stands on top of cinder blocks :P

Re: Fabricating your own exaust AFTER the down pipe...
cinder blocks would work if you have a dolly to roll around on.
I use a lift when doing my exhaust, full working garage with an adjacent machine shop ftw :6 |
Re: Fabricating your own exaust AFTER the down pipe...
I make the section over the axle first, then use slip fits on every other pipe. I clamp them in as I go, and when I'm done, pull it out and weld. Then the clamps come off for better ground clearance.
Still a pain, but by far the easiest way to build exhaust on the ground, especially if you have an impact wrench for the clamps. I'll do a pictorial whenever I get the engine back in my S10. |

I kinda enjoy the hot slag falling on your neck area.
