different log collector, should I, or should I just go about doing it normally?

What Weir is saying is to use a T instead of a square tube extension to the turbo flange. The T would have to be cut down the middle and widened the width of the turbo outlet with some flat stock used to make it ovular.

it would remove the corners, but with the way air flows, the flow would sort of bevel it's self as it catches on the side walls creating an ovular flow. I think with an oval manifold you would remove those pockets and create new area of resistance that's going to cause the air to flow in a somewhat square shape. sit in the back seat of a car going down the highway and play with what windows are rolled down, move your hands around and feel how the air is rushing in the car. by doing this you sort of get an idea of how air flows and creates jettys and other catches just like a liquid does when it flows.
I like the idea of the big flat plenum because it allows for ---- loads of air to be moved at once with little surface tension like you get with running a foot of 1.5 inch tubing for every runner. The flat area I think would just help to better direct flow into the turbine, although it might cause revision or whatever, or might do jack ---- nothing. I was just bored and thinking of things.

Rawr. I honestly would just get a Log flange from BMC. Its machined into the log portion. I know you know this already but you said you have space issues so keep it simple and effective.

I drew a picture of the two designs. It looks to me like your's would be easier to make and maybe flow a tad smoother, but Weir's would be more compact.
