Custom brake setup question
Okay I was doing a brake job on a 97 subaru lagacy wagon the other day and noticed they come with dual piston calipers....this got me to thinking, If I could find a car like this or some list of cars with these kinda of calipers, find me a set and swap them out for my stock single piston calipers...Can it be done? would it take any fabrication?

It's a civic so everything bolts on.

Re: Custom brake setup question
very funny. I'm pretty sure I asked what I would have to fabricate....? If you noticed I actually do work on cars I'm not one of these rich kids that buys an sti and says I got some sick ----. yeah I drive a civic, no I don't think everything bolts on which is why I asked. You guys need to chill out, I have searched on this topic and I haven't seen any write ups or articles or anything on converting Subaru brakes to work on my civic. Sorry for asking a question I thought that was the point of a forum.

Re: Custom brake setup question
Well go out and make them fit and you can start a new trend. I guess people use honda dual piston calipers cause sometime honda stuff is kinda related to each other and easier to make fit. I seen people use the dual piston calipers from NSX's and Legends I think. I've seen the NSX calipers on civics before. It's just finding the calipers.

Re: Custom brake setup question
I don't expect it to be just bolt on which is why I asked what kind of work it would take to make them work.

Wagon.
Oh yeah, Porsche 6 pots will fit, great for slowing down from 175-180 mph in a Civic. |
Re: Custom brake setup question
Find something with a similar rotor size an a dual piston and see if there is a way to make it happen. The impossible is only underfunded. Drill, cut, chop, rebuild, but don't hack, breaks are ------- important!! :6
