Default converting my jeep to manual

so dave and all you other jeep guys. i have a 1990 wrangler at my job that i was doing a clutch in and the guy no longer wants to do it, instead he wants to junk it. my jeep is a 1999. i am in need of a transfer case cause mine is noisy, and i figured why not just take everything out of this one and make it a 5 speed. my question is will the bell housing bolt up to my 4.0l ( the donor is a 2.5) other than that i think everything else will be plug and play. any ides are great

the 1990 might have the uber crappy Peugeot BA 10/5 5-Speed, there jokes. if you want to do a swap I would suggest finding an ax-15. thats the tranny that came behind the 4.0. stay away from the 2.5 trannys too, there ax-5's, kinda weak.

4.0's are sooo sexy. It sadens me when i see this bad *** jeep all lifted and done all out and then i notice that shitty little "x" that they put on teh fender of all the base model 4 bangers. what a waste.

Not saying they arent fun or anything but a 4 bager jeep is like a 6 cly mustang or camaro. whats the point.

on the back of the case there should be a small round badge. that will tell you what it is. if it is a 207 it is not a very good case. the 231 is the way to go. The 90 should have the 231 though

as long as it was taken care of should be good. check the ATF in it see what it looks like, and what dave said too, count the splines in it.

i think one weekend im gonnahave to take a trip up to your dyno and see what my bitch is making. i need a external wastegate and a boost gauge and a wideband cause i have no idea what the afr is or how much boost it was running. the thing is a monster i love it
