converting my jeep to manual
so dave and all you other jeep guys. i have a 1990 wrangler at my job that i was doing a clutch in and the guy no longer wants to do it, instead he wants to junk it. my jeep is a 1999. i am in need of a transfer case cause mine is noisy, and i figured why not just take everything out of this one and make it a 5 speed. my question is will the bell housing bolt up to my 4.0l ( the donor is a 2.5) other than that i think everything else will be plug and play. any ides are great

Re: converting my jeep to manual
the 1990 might have the uber crappy Peugeot BA 10/5 5-Speed, there jokes. if you want to do a swap I would suggest finding an ax-15. thats the tranny that came behind the 4.0. stay away from the 2.5 trannys too, there ax-5's, kinda weak.

Re: converting my jeep to manual
4.0's are sooo sexy. It sadens me when i see this bad ass jeep all lifted and done all out and then i notice that shitty little "x" that they put on teh fender of all the base model 4 bangers. what a waste.
Not saying they arent fun or anything but a 4 bager jeep is like a 6 cly mustang or camaro. whats the point. |
