Well, the book makes is up in the air. It says:

MIG wirefeed? Is there any other non-wirefeed MIG process? I think they may use that term to simply imply wirefeed welding.
A guy I chip ecus for is a NHRA tech inspector, I'll ask him.

The second set of pics look better. It still looks loose in the car. The welds look good for flux core. Though 90 amps on a cage from a chinese welder doesn't spell penetration. I think it will pass though.

I dunno man, Id honestly just rip it out.
First off the welds ARENT penetrating, unless youre using exhaust tubing, 90amps with those bubbled up welds isnt doing ----. You can tell they arent penetrating just by looking at the shape of it, it doesnt sink into the middle, it was just built ontop of it
THEN
Then design......
Look at all that space man, to the C-pillar, to the roof, were you really in that much of a hurry? On your main hoop, why the ---- did you bend it back in towards the center of the car at the bottom?
Youve already spent 10K+ on that car this year, another $200 in tubing isnt ----
Honestly think about it, Im usually all about ------ rigged ---- done "right", but not stuff like this, built like this, with a welder like that

Its your *** though. I hope youre OK the time you DO need it, but hope you never do.
Whatever,
---- it... Aint my car... DO NOT GRIND THE WEELDS like I told you on HT...
I HIGHLY suggest reading the specs for tech (NHRA cert).

The NHRA rulebook is very clear on no fluxcore. MIG is an acronym, I suggest you look it up. As for the cage passing tech? I could get painted PVC through some tracks, but the gap around the hoop is going to draw attention and you won't pass where a properly clearanced fluxcore cage with a little paint would sail through tech.
