I think the seal problem with draw through setups is depending on if you have a carbon seal or not. I remember reading something about it in a write-up on rebuilding an IHI. It mention draw through setups and the use of a carbon seal or a standard seal. I'm not 100% though.

HMT Sandrail is looking fresh. We are now carrying the Sandcar clutches as well, so let me know if you need one.
We have them available with 2500lb and 3500lb clamp loads. Disks available are 6 puck rigid or Iron.

I thought that there was more information but finally there is not much. Sorry, I thought that I had more to give you but finally I realize I don’t know much. :1

Taken from Joe Haile, Motorcycle turbocharging, supercharging and nitrous oxide.

The guy says that Rayjay turbos are OK for draw through, their seal is OK. IHI can be rebuilt with special seals that you can order.
