boosted sandrail on a budget

this is kind of an ongoing fun little project, the first one we've done so it's not pretty yet.

specs: 1800cc vw bus engine & transaxle, engine has a 2600cc '914 porsche' stroker kit in it, holley 440 4-barrel carb, unknown chrysler T3 that was laying around the shop, custom tube frame sandrail, 100% fabricated in house.

it needs paint, a boost gauge, and a bit more tuning, and a clutch! hah!

it's fun though!

That thing is sweet. I wish there were places around here that something like that could be driven....

that thing is pure Ghetto! Top job, how does it idle and drive with the suck through? Iv had a few suck through and draw throughs and had mixed results.

that thing is ------- sweet. :y

you are going to have to put counter weights up front to keep the wheels on the ground. (thats not a joke)

Re: boosted sandrail on a budget

it idles really well, well except when you change the fuel pump and forget a vise grip pinching the fuel line haha.
seriously though, it seems to run awesome except for a tiny little dead spot before the 2nd butterfly opens which my dad says he can cure. we're also going to paint it so it doesn't rust and ---- and maybe so it looks a little better. heh.

yea once we get a clutch that can handle the power i'm sure it will stand up a lot more. my dad took it up to the pavement last night and stood it up for 2 gears heh
