Nobody asked Jason to put on a helmet until he'd cracked 7.25's in excess of 100 mph in the eighth, which is solid 10 second 1/4 mile car territory. i had one of those shitty *** plastic "marine" battery boxes. every time we wend to the track they complained, even with a sealed battery in it!...

BOTI 05 in Seattle was the worst ------ tech session i have ever seen...

Beau's RACECAR = didnt look at ----, a full racecar with 25" slicks, one piece front end, etc... just put a sticker on the car and said to wait for his group to be called

Jeffs car = on fatty slicks, no interior, same thing. didnt ask how fast, or if he had a helmet or anything..

My car = same thing... yanked on the battery and sent me on my way...

pretty much everyone got the same thing...they where just letting people threw, most werent even looking under the hood...

my car make like 3 13second passes with NO HELMET...


couple times before that i was at the same track, same techs, etc... they where looking at the mounting of my seat, water level in my overflow, battery mounting, helmet certs, checking lugnuts..... they where sending people home... hell i almost got kicked out cuz i did a 13.5 with no helmet on lol...


none of those batteries will pass a legit NHRA tech inspection... they need to be sealed, mounted securely, vented outside the car, NHRA approved, and have a marked external battery cut off switch...

 

Car hard to start with that low of a CCA rating?

 

i have seen Honda's start with like 120CCA on the battery...

I could see 200 CCA or a little less, but I don't have a fresh starter. I keep cycling through the old used junk with sloppy bushings, which binds a little and spins the engine slow while sucking amps.

 

Yeah, my last starter was pirated off a 95 Z6, worked a lot better than the 90 I had on there.

I'm just worried about colder temps, and whether I can afford to leave the lights on for a min should I forget them when running into the gas station, etc. I think the tiny oddysseys are only around 130 around here, so I might just buy one of those.

 

The Oddessy's aren't any weight savings compared to stockers. They don't have impressive CCA ratings, do they just store more charge?
