Boat batter box and dry cell battery. threaded rod goes through box and spare tire and gets bolted from underneath the car.

passed an inspection at an IHRA track but it technically shouldn't have.

I think he meant the box. Those Odyssey batteries are spendy!

ahh.. that would make sense. yeah... the cheapest ones i can find are $140.

I think the reason you passed tech is because I *THINK* dryells dont absolutely need boxes. They are completely sealed and can be mounted in any direction. I have that same battery, was going to mount it in the back, but it fit in the stock tray w/ the charge pipes next to it. so this way i dont have to worry about possibly not passing tech.

You're exactly right. The rules do not have provisions for dry-cell batteries.

I find that the tech guys really only bother you if you pull up with a half-assed car or nitrous.
