B-Series Elephant Mani (Now with Dyno, but for the D-Series)

I made this a couple weeks ago and I'm bored today, so here it is.

The victim was this thick wall JASMA header. Some of them are made from thin SS. This one is a little thicker.

This is the flange from a b-series bipe. I have never seen the b-pipe made out of SS from Honda, so it won't be shiny. :S

I got a little creative and welded the flange section on some plate so I could cut the pipes off nice and straight with the HF chop saw. ;D

Here are the two 180's.

Here is the collector.

Some mild to stainless action with the 309.

http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/6...hant0175nn.jpg

Almost done. Still need the wastegate flange.

http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/6...hant0197uk.jpg

The wastegate flange.

http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/8...hant0274km.jpg

All done.

http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/4...hant0268px.jpg

Here it is mounted on the block. The turbo is an SC60 with a 0.48 A/R for my D, but I made sure a 0.63 wouldl fit as well.

http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/9...hant0308gp.jpg

Got it as close to the block as I could. Had to fit in an EG too you know.

More pics.

Try again buddy. Your post of when you made yours was in May.

Here is the first one I made. Made it first week of April the week after I got my welder. I actually got the idea in december after whiterice mentioned it and then when I saw the that guy on HT made, it just reinforced it as the first thing I should ever weld.

Right, the first one I saw was from the guy who made it on HT. I give him major props. I thought it was a sweet idea and so I made a couple myself.

Looks nice, but im glad that you cut up a "jasma header". Jasma = Japan Auto Sport Muffler Association. :1
Its kinda like a DOT stamp on a tire. well, really its the same thing. ;)
Dot= tires
JASMA=exhaust

Never knew that.

I didn't cut up the header. I cut the flange from the b-pipe. It will mount up to any b-series header.

Re: B-Series Elephant Mani

how much did you spent on the manifold, total? That ---- looks clean as hell. I might try to build one myself. :y Isnt it better to angle the wastgate upwards with the flow of the manifold?

could this be AC compatable?

Total without counting gas, would be about $55, only because I bought the T3 flange for 25. It is a very nice flange though.

I would be doable. You would just clock the compressor (turbo) so it faces forward so the charge pipe would go around the A/C compressor. Also the wastegate would need to relocate and a pusher fan on the condenser. The return line would also need to be relocated a little bit.

I didn't make for anyone's car in particular. I'll put it on my friends EG with LS/V and make the DP and then post pics of that.

Okay, found the dyno to the D-Series setup I posted above. ALso shows the stock dyno of the D15B.

Stock Internal D15B
Precision SC60 (T3/T4, 0.48/0.60, S3/60)
Tial 38mm 6.5psi as per freelog then slid down to 6, showed 7 on my guage
Unknown Ebay intercooler
TT 450's
ACT HDSS
2.5" DP
2.25" Exhaust

Enjoy :)

The B-series one was never installed in any car, but my 16 guage mild steel d-series one (painted black one) has been on three cars I think so far.

Used on my car for 5-6 months, then sold to a friend and he ran it for a couple months, then sold it to someone else. Who knows where it is now. That thing is a champ.
