B-Series Elephant Mani (Now with Dyno, but for the D-Series)
I made this a couple weeks ago and I'm bored today, so here it is.
The victim was this thick wall JASMA header. Some of them are made from thin SS. This one is a little thicker. http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/2...hant0020ej.jpg http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/3...hant0011nb.jpg http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/7...hant0035gn.jpg This is the flange from a b-series bipe. I have never seen the b-pipe made out of SS from Honda, so it won't be shiny. :S [http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/8...hant0041kn.jpg http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/7...hant0059lm.jpg I got a little creative and welded the flange section on some plate so I could cut the pipes off nice and straight with the HF chop saw. ;D http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/8...hant0378oo.jpg Here are the two 180's. http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/3...hant0079xc.jpg Here is the collector. http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/5...hant0116ud.jpg Some mild to stainless action with the 309. http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/6...hant0175nn.jpg Almost done. Still need the wastegate flange. http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/6...hant0197uk.jpg The wastegate flange. http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/8...hant0274km.jpg All done. http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/4...hant0268px.jpg Here it is mounted on the block. The turbo is an SC60 with a 0.48 A/R for my D, but I made sure a 0.63 wouldl fit as well. http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/9...hant0308gp.jpg Got it as close to the block as I could. Had to fit in an EG too you know. http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/7...hant0311sk.jpg More pics. http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/1...hant0322si.jpg http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/2...hant0350iz.jpg http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/391...hant0347jq.jpg |

<<<<<<<< Here is the first one I made. Made it first week of April the week after I got my welder. I actually got the idea in december after whiterice mentioned it and then when I saw the that guy on HT made, it just reinforced it as the first thing I should ever weld. http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/3...fold0405va.jpg http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/8...fold0528ov.jpg http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/3...fold0514yh.jpg The mighty downpipe. http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/3...fold0468ma.jpg |

Right, the first one I saw was from the guy who made it on HT. I give him major props. I thought it was a sweet idea and so I made a couple myself. |
Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
I made one like, 5 years ago, no joke. I own all of you. :l
Nice job though. Came out clean :) |
Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
looks nice

Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
Looks nice, but im glad that you cut up a "jasma header". Jasma = Japan Auto Sport Muffler Association. :1
Its kinda like a DOT stamp on a tire. well, really its the same thing. ;) Dot= tires JASMA=exhaust |
Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
------- bad ass, I bet it flows really well

Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
That look great :y .This seams to be the new HMT method for a top mount but at least your is nice quality welds.
|
Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
I do have to give madmax props because the first one he made was D AND B Series compatible! :y
|
Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
how much did you spent on the manifold, total? That ---- looks clean as hell. I might try to build one myself. :y Isnt it better to angle the wastgate upwards with the flow of the manifold?
|
Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
could this be AC compatable?
|
Re: B-Series Elephant Mani
you should swap that b-series into the taurus in teh backround, now that would be totally titties :P
