Looks like a spaceship! Fiberglass sucks but nice to know how to do and really pretty easy.

 

I have only used FiberGlas Evercoat Marine Grade Resin, never ever had a fire, but did have a few batches not kick over when the sun went down.

My exwifes second husband worked there so I got my resin and hardener for free.

I believe that's what my dad uses for his projects, I should pick some of that up.

 

its cheap. i think its like $100 for that kit. i have never bought any myself, i always just make my projects at work and use their resin. thats what we use for the smaller repairs that certain resins arent required

 

Looking from the back of it. It looks like a spaceship. Did you test out to see if the foam with melt with anything such as gas so you can remove it? Looks good so far but I suck at working with fiberglass. That ---- is so messy.

 

I have to agree it's really messy.

I've heard that acetone will remove it, that might get even messier

My concern was more that it would melt in contact with the resin itself, so I did a test piece and it didn't seem to affect it, so I just laid the fiberglass right over the top of it.

 

Ive removed foam from fiberglass using acetone before. Its turns into a bubble gum like substance, a bit of a pain in the *** but doable. Just make sure wherever you are doing it is well ventilated. You will also need quite a bit of acetone. Probably a full liter to do that.

 

So what's the rest of the bike look like is what is the other bike for that matter?
