One flash isn't going to hurt. But from your pics I can't even start to tell you what is wrong. Waht type of welder, and for fluxcore, you need high quality wire. The shitty stuff splatters to much causing you arc to jump around.

I've flashed my self tons of times with my flux core and I've never experienced any sand feeling or pain, I just have a big white dot where the image has been burned in for a little bit, then it goes away. Could it be because I wear contacts?

I've got an HF fluxcore. Bought some decent wire at Lowes and it made a big difference. HF auto-darkening helmets kick total *** too.

I had a comparable unit (non-HF) and I used to think that, until it gets to be 1yr old, It delays WAY more, Cuts out during a weld and ----. Kinda painful when tigging. I'm investing in a decent helmet soon! If you gonna do a bunch of welding (probably not with FluxCore) I suggest spending the money right the first time!

Yea the HF FluxCore Wire sucks. I bought some Lincoln wire from HomeDepot and it made a huge difference.

True that. It's up there on my list of stuff to get within the next 12mo or so but it's fine for the time being with 110v MIG. You only get 1 set of eyes.......unless you have blackmarket connections. :shifty eyes:
