anyone want to see bad welding
 

so i just tried to weld for the 1st time ever. damn it was a mess. bird ---- and holes everywhere. ontop of that i even looked right at the arc once for a split second before realizing i wasent wearing a mask. and maybe damaged my eyes. wasent even welding anything together, just trying to lay a bead and get the feel for it on a piece of 2.5" exhaust pipe.

so ya check this ---- out, i think im ready to make some crazy manifolds n ----

dont worry, if you caught a welding flash, it'll feel like sandpaper for a couple days and you'll be fine. Eyes heal fast.

try welding 2 pieces together you will catch on quicker doing this

aright, i was gona cut a piece off and try to weld em back together but it was like 11 30pm already so i didnt want to be loud

Gotta start somewhere.Keep practicing you will finf that the difference after a good couple hours alone is a tremendous.The library has some good books on basic technic and grab some old pipes from the muffler shop or something to practice on.Good luck.

lol if you fucked your eyes you would know right after you went to sleep....when you wake up the light creaping under your door will feel like someone is shining a laser in your retina, its cool

That "midnight moment" where you wake up out of a dead sleep and it feels like someone poured sand in your eyes and you cant make it stop... its sort of like a right of passage in welding...

I'm gonna say flux core? Don't even ---- with that ----. Get the gas and watch the pool. You'll be pro 2 days after your eyes feel like sand.

First your eyes will hurt when they are open, then they'll hurt when their closed so you try to close them as tight as you can, and then they will hurt unless every ounce of your energy is going to shutting your eyes as tight as possible. Then you really start to question if you really fucked yourself good. Then you put a pillow over your eyes and ask yourself how you're going to live as a blind person. Then an hour later you take the pillow off and you're fine. It's fucken fantastic.
