Default Anybody try casting aluminum parts?

I have a shitload of aluminum cans, since scrap fell on its face, I was thinking about melting them down and making some larger ITB's and other items.

i never have but I remember the 7th or 8th grade shop teacher used to do it all the time. He used sand with a touch of oil (I think) to let it be packed and hold shape. Then he used styrofoam to make the molds cause the molten aluminum burned it out easily. He always had aluminum coffee cups and ---- on his desk.
