I love welding, and I think I do OK for my little projects, but holy hell, to take it to that level is amazing. Just reading what he's talking about, I can't imagine actually being good enough at TIG to tell the difference between all the settings he mentioned.

Yeah I am in Canada, I can't find a decent fabricator/welder to save my life, that said I am looking for skill level similar to what was posted above, which is just flat out rare.

You'd have to pay a fortune for someone like that, which is why you don't see barely any of the truly amazing welders in the fabrication business for cars. They mainly stick to industrial stuff that pays really well.

There are 4 root style passes to build up the fillet, then one top weld that I call a cap which is what most people call a weave.

The weave is a pattern like this l/l/l/l/l/l/l/l and drop rod in at the top and the bottom.

man i got to use a dynasty 200dx the other day and it was ------- sweet, bitch screams at 250hrz.
but i dont get how you can even do multiple passes on aluminum and still keep the bead that small.
anyone know?

1 root-> as many stringer beads to fill as it takes-> cap
In the case of the picture and all the other pictures in the thread, they are 1 pass.
The exception is his fuel manifold:

That's the OP's 4 passes, and TCT's weave pass.
There's a root pass at the joint, two stringer beads at the toes, a weave pass capping it off.

OMG historic day! AFAIK this is only the second full-pen weld of any kind ever posted on HMT. bawahahahahahaha
Guy does a good job on his root getting a solid tack weld, then fusing that when he starts welding.

This thread should get four pasties and a chained bitch!
