My work area, I complain about it at times but really I shouldn't haha. Its insulated but not heated. On the -35 days I just stay inside. My parents let me use the garage in the winter time when the car is apart so its all good.

wha? hotrex?

go get some 110v arvin milkhouse heaters, and put new fans on the backside, cutting out the grates front and rear.

the heater

theyre 1500w = around 2500 btu's, but it needs air to move it.

Re: log manifold fabrication progress *update 1*

why put something flamable by any heater? not everyone is a ------- moron.
15,000 will actually heat a large room or two medium sized rooms. a 2500btu hot plate is what the hippies use to heat their electric conversions.
i remember growing up those 1500w heaters with electric motors in them as a kid and they couldn't heat a big heated room in weak alabama winters. only warm it up from a niple poking 60F to maybe 70F, even then they'd have to run constantly. So how is one gunna deal with a garage in a cold -35??? it won't, ever. you'd never heat an unheated room with it.

it aint even that cold here in the winter( 20's-30's for a couple of months) but i make my money in a family biz of developing land & new home construction. we have to use the larger turbine kerosene heaters b/c little ---- like that only wastes generator power while creating a warm spot a couple of feet in diameter. completely useless they can't heat a small room on their own.

thanks for trying tho c0mpl3x

Ok got some work done.

Got my 6.0l manifolds. Cut the stock flange off, cut and ground smooth casting lines, numbers, etc. Cleans them up a bunch. Got them mounted and mocked some piping up. Waiting on Turbo and money for more piping. Sorry for the camera phone pics.

What the manifolds started out as. You can see the mostly finished product in the pics.
Attachment 21119

Drivers side. Hot side will go down under harmonic balancer then back up.

Attachment 21121

Passenger side. Essentially where the turbo is going to sit.

Attachment 21123

And what the manifolds look like cleaned up. They will get blasted then coated.

indeed it should. I want it to be as clean as possible(aside from the wire harness. I'm gonna change that down the road).

Anyways got my fuel rail spacers made lol. Just some 1/2" ms tube cut and filed to 1/2" long.

I would have left the flanges on and bolts on to the manifold. Cast like to crack when welded. :'(
