you can just drill the holes for the manifold bolts progressively larger (from the center out) All the expansion slots do is keep the heads of the bolts from shearing off.

bi metal rigid holesale plus cutting fluid euqals a solid 1.25 holes drilled until it was dull. Plasma it is come monday at work lol.
