you don't need much power to do this. he used a cheap mig welder, which is probably a harbor freight 90amp special with like 10% duty cycle ;D
Any half decent welder should do the job. :y |

True story, I think it was somewhere around 80 amps at the max settings.
I should be honest though, the manifold did warp slightly and develop an exhaust leak after a few months. Took it off to do some other maintenance and also noticed a hairline crack in the weld between the two tees. Oh well, nothing that some time with the belt sander and welder couldn't fix. Sanded it flat and ground and layed a FAT weld across the tees and haven't had any problems since. Still looks pimp. Will be posting up my build thread soon. |
