The $40 AC Compatible Log Manifold

Seen a lot of people making their own log mani's on here so I figured I'd give it shot. This will be a minor upgrade from the HF manifold I was going to use, so I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on it.

Brace yourselves...

Home Depot plumbing elbows and tees. ~$7
Head Flange from Weir Technologies ~$20
T25 Flange from Weir ~$10

Flanges are in the mail, will finish up when they arrive.

The goal; A lot of grinding required:

After welding; Flux Core Chinese Mig FTMFW!:

Gnarliest weld:

For those of you who don't know, behold the glory that is sandblasting. Takes things that look like crap and makes them awesome. I'm also convinced sandblasting can fix ANYthing... but I digress:

the threads add turbulance, helping the exhaust pulses merge into one as they enter the turbo

I like, but if you dont have the head flange how do you know your spacing between the runners is correct?

I mocked it all up to the hf manifold I have. Had to grind down the threads so that the elbows would screw far enough in.

Haha that sounds like a good theory. I did grind off the exposed threads to minimize any sharp corners where heat would accumulate, but there's still plenty of turbulence to go around. Also with the Street Elbows the diameter necks down where they join the Tees, and then immediately opens up to the Tee inside diameter, so that will hopefully somewhat reflect pulses from other cylinders aimed at entering the 1 and 4 runners backwards.

The real beauty of this is that everything is screwed together, even the tees have a 1/2" length of a close nipple in between them. Even if my welds were total ----, the thing would still hold itself together and decently maintain pressure.
