Won't go into open loop?

Re:Won't go into open loop?
Hrm...
..I hadn't heard anything (or found in anything that I have done) where closed/open loop is dependent strictly on load, rather than TPS.
Everything I have seen and tested with have pointed to it being directly related to TPS.
..have you measured your TPS voltages? Whip out your voltmeter. Simple test will see if it's even functioning right (code or not).

Re:Won't go into open loop?
I replaced the TPS today. It still does the same thing with the A/F gauge not going full rich. I boosted it up and it doesnt ping or knock or detinate. I am ordering my WB next week and going to hook up datalogging. I just always thought if I go WOT the gauge should go full rich because its in open loop. Other than that it runs awesome.

Re:Won't go into open loop?
If you don't have a good ground, you're not going to get an accurate reading back from the O2.
Check the ground on your tranny to the chassis, and the ground from your wiring harness to your thermostat housing. Also, the chassis to the valve cover.
Any ground you have needs to be clean, and solid, otherwise, you're going to pick up noise.

Re:Won't go into open loop?
Sorry guy's, I didn't mean to shoot out wrong info I was taking information that another member had told me at one time. I guess I shouldn't have listened to him without further testing and experience of my own. But, on the other hand it could still be the map sensor. It's just that there are alot of other variables involved with open and closed loop that could be messing with you CSaddict.

Re:Won't go into open loop?
Ok, today I changed the MAP and it didn't help. I tried a few more bins and it didn't help. I then tried Scttydb411's new map he sent me with closed loop disabled and to my suprise it actually idled ok this time. GOOD JOB ON THE THAT MAP! It does feel a bit sluggish down low but I feel safe in boost that its rich enough. I am ordering my PLX WB on Monday. Then I can really dig in. In the mean time I will try to get my datalogging set up. Thanks for all the responses, I still don't know why it doesn't go open loop but if I have to run it open loop all the time I will tune the ---- out of it. EVERY ------- CELL!
