It is NOT a good idea to connect the LC-1 permanently to 12V and switch it
on with a separate switch before the vehicle is started. Depending on the climate
and the sensor position in the exhaust, condensation water can form in the
exhaust pipes. This condensation water could then be blown by the exhaust
stream against the hot sensor when the car is started. The resulting heat shock
can permanently damage the sensor.

Normally aspirated daily driver:
- Calibrate before installation of new sensor
- Calibrate new sensor again after 3 month of use
- Thereafter calibrate once a year or every 20,000 miles, whichever comes first
Turbo car, daily driver (tuned rich):
- Calibrate before installation of new sensor
- Calibrate new sensor again after 3 month of use
- Thereafter calibrate twice a year or every 10,000 miles, whichever comes first
Race car
- Calibrate before first installation of new sensor
- Calibrate once per race weekend
Dyno use
- Calibrate a new sensor
- Calibrate every 2-3 days, depending on usage

ya i always pulled it out in fresh air i reset it completly by unplugging it and powring up the lc_1 then pluging it in and free air calibration outside of the car i just let it sit on the radiator support then turn it off and unplug it and scew it back in and then plug it in and then go from there.. and i was heating it before start up a couple of times maybe that has to do something with it taking a ----..

I don't know about the other widebands, but the zeitronix wideband have a sensor warmup period of 30 seconds, and the AEM has one of 10 seconds, they recomend using it before starting. they both uses the same sensor.

Dont heat up the sensor prior to starting...
Do place it 9 o' clock to 3 o' clock position in the exhaust 8-18 inches from the turbo...
Constantly taking out and putting in the sensor will shorten the life of it...these sensors are sensitive to getting knocked around...
Leaded gas will shorten the life of the sensor...
Sensors are never covered under any sort of warranty
